Arrington Performance 2015 - 2011 Challenger Heads and Cam Package

Many Challenger owners want more power without damaging drivability. The Arrington Heads & Cam package is complete and completely proven. We thought we would take this opportunity to show you the dyno numbers we post which should help everyone understand the process.

When releasing dyno numbers it might be tempting to select the lowest baseline and the highest power number observed during the calibration process. This makes for a nice internet video, but might be tough to reproduce day in and day out. So in the interest of transparency, we thought we would take this chance to publish the range of relevant numbers observed throughout the calibration process. Below you will find our actual dyno graphs produced during the development and calibration process of our ported heads and cam package.

Build Specs:

  • Factory 392 6.4L HEMI Engine
  • Arrington Phase 6 Heads including CNC porting; Newen Epoc, Single Point, True Radius, CNC Valve Job; Hand Blended; PSI Springs; Viton Seals; hardened locators & retainers with stock SRT valves
  • Comp VVT 274 Cam: Intake Lift .619, Exhaust Lift .612, Intake Duration @ .050: 224. Exhaust Duration @ .050: 234
  • Comp Phase Limiter for VVT 6.4L HEMIs
  • API Chromoly push rods with .080 wall, and .210 radius tip
  • API Cold Air Intake
  • Stock exhaust from heads to tail-pipe

Picture 1. This is a baseline graph done on the factory tune right after pulling the 2014 Dodge Challenger onto the dyno. With the dyno cell temperature of 61 deg F, and the vehicle warmed to 150 deg F coolant temp for a pull of 414.3HP & 417.4TQ.baseline pull 1

Picture 2. This is the same car on the third pull. Only difference is now the vehicle & driveline is up to operating temperature and the actual dyno cell temp is @ 59.3 deg F for a pull of 407.9HP & 409.1TQ. baseline pull 2

Picture 3. With the API Phase 6 Heads and Cam package installed, we dialed in the tune to be able to run effective pulls. Graph 3 shows a fully tuned vehicle with the engine and driveline at full operating temps. Final pull of the day of 471.5HP & 460.9TQ. installed pull 1

Picture 4. The exact same car with the exact same calibration is dyno’d the following morning with a cell temp of 45.1 deg F. The cooler drive train and cell temperatures are worth 17HP. With the coolant temp at 150 deg F the max HP pull was 495.7HP & 486.6TQ. This final run has been compared to the "best" cold baseline number "published" showing a gain of 81HP.
